On March 21st the world comes together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen because the karyotype of Down syndrome chromosomes actually look like mismatched socks!
Calling all ECS girls in grades 3-5, it's time to lace up those sneakers and join Girls on the Run! We begin March 17th and will meet Mondays and Wednesdays after school, ending with a 5k in Oneonta on June 1st.
